Old Piraeus is so popular for a reason. The food is great, the prices are fair. The staff are friendly and courteous. (Corona) measures well implemented. Shortcoming: Parking spaces - parking in front of the shop is prohibited! The restaurant does not have its own parking spaces. The confluence is often almost tight. (Difficult to see place which is even more secluded by the cars. Very, very unattractive. I would not be surprised if the public order office often marches past at times.

Ever since I was a child, I've always enjoyed going here or getting something to take away. The welcome is always very warm, the food is perfect and the service attentive and fast. We are already looking forward to our next visit!

Highly priced but worth every penny. A star deduction, because we had reserved a window seat (we were assured by phone) and did not get a window seat. The food was great! The grill plate portion (which we didn't have, but at the table next door) looked rather meager. We had plenty of lamb from the oven, crispy fish and really very well fried octopus as a starter.

We visited the Greek restaurant "Alt Piraeus" for the first time and discovered it through the restaurant suggestions of the Kulinaris Card 2020. And this discovery was a great recommendation that was worth it - so much in advance. The restaurant is located in a very beautiful, rural and quiet area. If you did not know that you are in the middle of the Ruhr, you could also think that as a stranger you are on vacation somewhere in a nice, quiet place in Germany. We found the area around the restaurant to be worth mentioning in any case, especially because not far from Old Piraeus, there are a few beautiful viewpoints that invite you to relax and admire the surroundings. The only small downside is the limited parking space. Unfortunately, there is no dedicated car park. However, there are very good opportunities to park in the back streets or nearby! In addition to the beautiful location, a visit to the restaurant was distinguished above all by the warm hospitality. The waiter, a nice young man, was very attentive and knew exactly when it was a good time to ask again for a new drink or the desired clearing. It is not that easy to have tact there either. The cappuccino came quickly and was very creamy and tasty. The cookie in particular was a great addition. The salad wasn't just served, but in our opinion it was very fresh and appetizing - it tasted exactly the way it looked. Crunchy and Fresh! The dish I ordered was the "Alex" plate. This was also nicely presented and just the right portion. The food was very tasty and left nothing to be desired in terms of taste. The prices for such a good quality are completely in the normal average of a restaurant visit to a Greek restaurant. There are restaurants that are much more expensive and serve up much less quality and food. The fact that the management works itself is always a good sign that tradition and passion are also involved. We recommend "Old Piraeus" without hesitation after our very positive experience. Very tasty lunch. Although we didn't have a reservation, it was no problem to get a seat on Sunday lunchtime. Unfortunately the food was not that hot. Hence a star deduction. Otherwise everything was great.
